Feng Shui is the art of harmonizing the natural energy, Qi (pronounced Chi), within a given volume of space, at a given point of time, based on the individual living or working in this space. The goal is to promote health, happiness, success and wealth for that individual or individuals residing or working in this location.
The literal translation of Feng Shui is wind and water. Most everyone knows what water means but what about wind? The wind represents directions. For Feng Shui to be effective, the need to study the forces of water and the multiple directional influences is of paramount importance. Every direction, even down to a single degree, can create a significant and profound effect on the Feng Shui of a particular location.
Feng Shui can be classified as New Age or Classical. New Age Feng Shui leans heavily towards symbolism and the placement of Chinese Cultural Items or good fortune cures. It has become rather all encompassing and at times.
Classical Feng Shui takes in the four factors of Residents, Time, Location, and Direction. Classical Feng Shui can, at times, also be separated according to whether the chosen formulations fall into the Li Qi School (calculations of Qi through formulas) or the Form School (observation of the physical environment/landform). Infinity Life Design specializes in Classical Feng Shui techniques and calculations.
